Emax 250 Test Flights

January 28, 2015

After watching a video of some French dudes blasting around a forest “podrace-style”, I decided I had to pick up a little 250 size “racing drone” kit and give it a shot.

With FPV goggles on this stuff is almost as fun as riding a motorcycle. Feels like you’re going a million miles an hour. The best part is that the carbon fiber holds up remarkably well in a crash… the only parts you have to replace after a minor incident are props, which are dirt cheap.

Battery life is still a bit on the short side and lithiums can be a pain in the ass to deal with charging/discharging, but overall I’m happy with what I’ve got so far. Need to rig a wedge under the camera so I can get more in-frame while at speed. Lots of room for customization and improvements.
