On the western side of the Rockies, overlooking Lake Granby
at dawn, looking towards Nymph Lake and Longs Peak in RMNP. I had the entire place to myself and found a little rock outcropping above the trees where I could sit quietly.
Like being on another planet... these are the tallest sand dunes in North America (close to 750') and are a by-product of erosion and wind in the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo mountain ranges.
